Rene suggests United should buy midfielder.

Rene Meulensteen, Sir Alex Ferguson’s former right-hand man at Manchester United, believes the club should sign another midfielder but not sell Scott McTominay.

The Red Devils have already signed four new players this summer in Joshua Zirkzee, Leni Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Masraoui, but are still keen on bringing in another midfielder, with Manuel Ugarte reportedly close to joining from Paris Saint-Germain and McTominay on the move.

Mullensteen agrees United need to bring in another midfielder but says McTominay should not be sold.

“I won’t sell McTominay, for sure, I’ll keep him,” Meulensteen told the UFABET. “I’d sell Antony straight away, no explanation, United have better players in that position with Amad (Diallo) and Garnacho who have shown they can play on either side, even Bruno Fernandes can play on the wing if he wants.”

“I don’t think you need another player with pace, you need a player who can pass the ball well. There are many options in that position. Antony is useless and has shown that he will be different this season, but I don’t think anyone in the market will come and pay the price and the wages.”

“McTominay will always work for you. He’s score important goals and will give everything for you. You can play him in different positions, so I wouldn’t sell him. I think there are other players.”
