Former star Graeme Souness is confident Arsenal can win the Premier League title this season and believes Liverpool can secure a top-four finish despite major changes.
Mikel Arteta’s side are focus on winning the title and open the season with a 2-0 win over Wolves, and Souness believes this will be the year for the Gunners to win the trophy, while the Reds, despite a new manager, Arne Slot, are still good enough to finish in the top four.
“My top three? I’d go with Arsenal as champions, Manchester City as runners-up and Liverpool in third,” Souness told the Daily Mail. “That could change if there are big-name signings between now and August 30.”
“I hope Liverpool get at least one key player because Jurgen Klopp got the best out of this team and they finished third last season, so will Arne Slots do the same?”
“I don’t think he would come in without a commitment to spend money. They also brought back Michael Edwards as CEO. His recruitment record ยูฟ่าเบท was impressive in the last market.”
“Nobody makes the right signings, but he’s done exceptionally well and has the ability to find players with the potential to take the club forward.”
For the fourth place, Souness sees Manchester United, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and Aston Villa competing for the spot.
